Three days of Comedy Gold – A summery
The Retfest Comedy Festival, now in its fourth year, was once again a resounding success, showcasing a diverse range of comedic talent over three days across various venues in and around Retford, Nottinghamshire.
Day one of the festival saw a strong lineup of comedians at the Galaway Arms, including the clever wit of Billy McGuire and the comedic musings of KD Hinken and Big D Archer. The Black Boy also offered a strong lineup, with Ian Allerston and Griff delivering sharp one-liners and Rebecca Sambrooks bringing her unique brand of observational humor to the stage. The festival closed on a high note with a packed house at The Hideaway, where Oli Clarke, Nick Mason, Leanne East and Hope Hitz had the audience in stitches.
Day two was filled with laughs from start to finish, beginning with a tribute to the late great Jethro at the Snooker Club. The acts paid homage to the beloved comedian with a variety of performances. The Ten Green Bottles played host to Annabell Edwards, Billy McGuire and Tharun Challey, among others, while The Brick & Tile and The Packet Inn both featured strong lineups of comedians, including Griff, Ian Alerston and Patrick Larringtondale.
The final day of the festival did not disappoint, with a lineup of diverse and talented comedians taking to the stage at Beer Under the Clock, The White Lion, and The Clumber Inn, to name a few. The festival closed with a bang at Albertos, where Pauline Barton, Michael Monk House and Billy McGuire had the audience in hysterics.
Overall, Retfest once again delivered on its promise of bringing top comedic talent to the stage, making for a weekend filled with laughter and good cheer. The organization and execution of the event was impeccable, with all necessary safety measures in place to ensure the well-being of attendees and performers.
